The Direct Mail List.

There is a widely held belief among direct mail marketers that often cites the 60-30-10 Rule that 60% of your mail success depends on the list, 30% on the offer and only 10% on the creativity. That’s why researching and defining your market is critical.

When choosing your list you need to consider certain criteria.

A “Buyer’s List”, is made up of people who have already responded to an opportunity or product like yours, and/or have paid out money for that product or opportunity.

A “Seeker’s List” may not do it for you if you need a front end sale immediately. Seekers want information and they don’t want to pay for it. The type of marketer who uses a seeker list, depends on his/her ability to close a prospect over the phone once they call, or the ability to close a prospect by sending additional information. The companies that I recommend to the people that join me in my 100 fast postcard mailing program, manage several different lists. Most important thing is to trust your list broker to find a proper list for you. If he can’t do it, find another broker.

The Postcard Marketing Campaign

Mail multiple times. A good postcard marketing campaign contacts your target audience multiple times and involves multiple mediums of contact. For example when people receive my postcard they call my recorded information line which allows me to follow up with them via phone call or voice broadcasting. Also on the postcard is my website where they can visit and have the opportunity to give me their name and email address which allow me to follow up via email.

The frequency of your contacts depends on your product, service, or opportunity but do not assume that a single contact will generate the conversions you want. It has been my experience that it takes a minimum of 10 contacts before somebody makes a buying decision.

Vary the messages. Be sure to that each contact involves varying themes and not just constantly buy buy buy!! You need to involve some education on the benefits they will gain from joining you in your program. Mix up your messages with some info, some entertainment and infuse your messages with your personality.

Measure response. This is the most critical part of a postcard mailing campaign if you truly want to be successful. You must constantly be TESTING and TRACK EVERYTHING because if you dont know what is working and what is not working then you will have no way to improve your results. The fact of the matter is that not every mailing campaign will be successful but when you have acquired some data you will know exactly what it takes to make your desired income.

First, at some point, you tried something based on a recommendation, a testimonial you read,

So again you’re comparing…and not really trying anything “purely” and on its own merit without

preconceived notions or judgments. You are already working against yourself! You may not yet

automatically expect failure, but you have it as an option, and perhaps even a probability based on

your previous experiences.

The more things you try with this mindset, the more you fortify this mindset – it becomes a self-fulfilling

prophecy that “Nothing works for me”. Before you know it, that is who you Become. The person you

are about reaching your specific goals or trying this or that product or technology is “It works for

others but never for me.” Once you reach that place, it will most certainly become true for you.

So what do you do? How do you break out of this pattern?

First, acknowledge how you got here…by comparing yourself or your results with other people who

are really on a completely different path then you, although they may have been after similar results.

Then create a new idea for yourself – give yourself permission to experience success on your own

terms, without judging what happens based on other people or expectations set up by anyone other

than yourself.

Once you believe that you deserve to succeed and that you CAN succeed and that you WILL

succeed, your life will change. Whatever you try will work for you, because YOU define what

“working” is – not somebody else! You set your own timetable, you are relaxed, and non-judgment.

Your infinite patience and lack of expectation based Externally, will work with you in very powerful

ways and you will regain control over your destiny.
